new haircut and new friends

new haircut
Originally uploaded by amyr.
so, finally the terrible hair has been chopped off, as demonstrated by the terrible camera phone photo, and i feel a ton better. i just hope i can find someone on the east coast who can replicate it.... anyway. it was a weird long day today. started out at the beverly center and then walked to the grove and then back to michele's- took the bus to beverly hills (who else says that??) and met michele at work and then hung out there. had a weird moment... traci bingham (from most recently the surreal life and previously baywatch, why we know that, i don't know.... anyway) was at the restaurant. i went to the ladies before we were leaving and she was in there and started talking to me, first asking me how i was, etc, etc, she was nice, and then she said my purse was cute (that H&M $9.90 purse is a big hit wherever i go... jeez louise) and i told her how it was a steal and she said she thought that was fantastic and then all of a sudden she looked at me and said "look at you, you're so little and cute, so cute and little" it was so strange. granted she was wearing literally 4-5 inch heels so no wonder i look like a miniature....anyway, who can say that had a run in like that with a celebrity. ok, so one other time i did see pink in a bathroom when i was here before, who knew the best place to meet celebs was in bathrooms??? then we get outside and we saw jose eber!!! rock!! my celeb quota might be filled. anyway. dinner at formosa, watching the alternative on classic vh1 now. ROCK!!!

cure on the rock walk II

so last year before coachella michele and i waited hours to see the cure inducted into the rock walk of fame in hollywood. we didn't end up seeing too much so we visited to see the final product yesterday. they also have hand prints for motorhead (i believe lemmy only had one finger imprinted...) and def leapard. weird. michele's at work for a bit longer and i'm hanging out after a morning of walking around and window shopping. we went to aoemba and i only bought 3 cds (and two are only singles) i was totally ill prepared and could not for the life of me remember what i wanted to look for!! hopefully getting a hair cut today, maybe i'll have more photos to post later. xo to all.

lots of news, not so much writing....

let's see, when is the last time i was here.... almost two weeks ago, sorry for the drought.

last friday i worked until 12 and then headed up to pgh for the legendary greensburg stitch and bitch. so much fun. the usual gang was there (natasha the organizer extraordinar, heather). and i got to catch up with fran z. one of my great profs. from SVC. we talked about the growth of svc, i am afraid i might not recognize it!! it was so nice to talk to such great people, i had a blast. fran and i even relieved the infamous jane eyre story, which if you don't know, ask me, it's pretty funny. i hope that michele and fran can get together next time michele visits the burgh. at the SnB i did manage to finish one of the legwarmers and it fits perfectly this time, yeah!! hopefully i can finish the other this weekend or early next week on the train.

hung out with natasha and co. on saturday and visited the new joann's and even had dinner with her parents which was really nice of them to do.

i have been crafting like crazy, but feeling like i am not accomplishing anything. i guess when you work on too many things at once you are bound to feel like this. i have been working on a shirt/ asymmetrical tunic thing that i may take to cali next week, still my coworker's embroidered tshirt which is about 75% done, and the legwarmers. i just have trim stuff to do on the shirt before i move onto the next shirt. will it ever end???

so next week i'll get to take my long vacation, with one extra day added on for work at the end, and go to coachella. i am pretty psyched. no work, good weather, a trip to amoeba, meet michele's new cat simon oh and see michele and mark of course. should be fun.

ok, over and out.

takes you back, doesn't it?

or not.
if anyone (ok, i know the entire world has seen i love the 80's, 90's, etc) has ever read any of joel stein's recent la times stuff, it's pretty amusing, this is definetly in that category.

i present the top five reasons you suck and that i am mad at you:

home

so i went home this weekend, it was quite nice. the weather was great, the company was great. all was wonderful in the n to the h to the t (that's north huntingdon township to the uninformed..). i went to a wedding shower for the fiance of my very oldest best friend, we've known each other since birth. it was great to see him and then meet his fiance. got to visit with his family, they are such great people.
hung out with natasha, dana, jason b and heather on saturday night. we gave the red star another try, and it turned out for the best. i just love the look of the place and the food hasn't always lived up to that expectation, but alas, everyone was satisfied this time. we should have taken photos, but anyway, look at the web if you are unfamiliar, it is a converted train station/ micro brewery. (wow, the actual home page has no photos, that's silly... i am just realizing that there are no photos of red star on the internet, so anyone who wants to know what it's about will have to visit greensburg pa, easily accessible by the amtrak train which stops at the train station) oh, plus we went to ritas for custard and some italian ice, the custard was so lovely.
came back to md yesterday and will go back to pa on friday afternoon for the SNB, yeah!!! it's so nice to be home and not have snow on the ground!!

six feet under

i have been finally catching up on six feet under. i fought against watching it for a long time (natasha and michele feel free to comment and say i told you so) but i finally started watching it last year (you know just in time to see the next to the last season and then the last season whenever that will come out). so anyway, you have to love poor man's tivo (aka, comcast on demand) b/c they finally put up all of season three for ME to watch. i am psyched b/c it's not yet availble on dvd from netflix, so i feel like i will understand it all. i saw the episode tonight when lisa leaves to "visit her sister" and she is at the beach, it was amazing b/c if i saw that episode in the right sequence i would have never thought anything about her being at the beach, but knowing what i know now... a ha. ok, that is all i have to report.

interview for angel

so here are angel's interview questions...
1. you attended a women's college (much like natasha) how did that shape you and what kind of educational experience did you have? would you recommend others attend women's schools?
2. you are really into music and going to shows. what is your craziest music experience? worst show you've seen? best (i know this will be difficult for you...)?
3. If you could live anywhere and do anything for a living (money not being an issue in either case) what would it be? where?
4. what's your impression of DC? what do you like the most? what do you dislike the most?
5. for those who don't know you, what would they find out about you after months of knowing you? (not like a deep dark secret, but rather a suprising fact, something you like/ dislike, etc).

Post the responses on your blog and then send out a call for others who would want to be interviewed.
