sorry for the lack of activity on this blog lately. you all know i am pretty busy with the move on saturday and packing and trying to get everything done before i get outta dodge.
saturday was busy. worked on packing and got more done, feeling ok about the packing right now. still lots of cleaning to do before moving out, but it'll get done, really it has to.
danielle and i went to fado for drinks and dinner and our fav. waiter waited on us. he's worked there for at least the past 5 years b/c i think the first time he waited on us was when i was just visiting here before i made the move. anyway, we adore the waiter (who incidentally looks like an ex-boyfriend of someone michele and i went to college with...) danielle and i got the 9:30 club for the david gray show, there were a ton of people ahead of us to get in, and they hassled me about my camera (later, they chose to not hassle people who were standing in places where people are not normally allowed to stand, but whatever 9:30, choose your battles, right?) so it was packed and we had an ok place to see the stage and then some yahoos appear on the scene only to TOTALLY block the view. the crowd was packed with dc folks who apparently do not ever go out b/c they were attached at the hip with their significant others, and they talked a lot (danielle said they were all probably asking each other where they worked, as per the major DC question). anyway, i didn't get to see the stage at all until midway through the set when this random girl who could kind of see forced me to go up front and at least see david for a minute, that was nice, that's how i finally got the photos. danielle moved up some so at least she got to somewhat see. hopefully the LA show will allow me a better view. anyway, he played what has to be the entire new album, he only played i think 4 songs that were not new. everything sounded great. picked up my adapter for my camera (the 9:30 staff for some reason could not get that no my digital camera does not have a detachable lens, that's an adapter for a filter.... so they insisted on keeping that during the show, um, ok....) and headed home after a quick 7-11 stop. anyway, the show was ok, some what ruined by the dc yuppie crowd.
sunday danielle and i tried to get my watch fixed at fossil (no luck, have to mail it in....) and then went to tapas teatro and sofi's again in baltimore. and of course, six feet under. i said on someone else's blog that i was glad that we didn't have to witness the agony of david telling ruth, just the aftermath. that show is amazing how good it is, i was so upset by this week that again i had to watch entourage to get SFU outta my head. looks like there is still some action coming in the last two weeks, plus the cast shows they previewed (kind of the behind the scenes/ making of..) look good too. I'll be at michele's for the finale, so it will finally be nice to actually watch it and discuss it with someone, you know?
today i have lunch with my former boss, my former coworker and my current coworker, should be fun. (they don't know it yet, but i am hoping that they can help me with the database i am working on, what a dorky lunch, huh?)
