so finally, i post about the qotsa show. i was so tired, yet, it was totally worth it. i was so angry that i didn't bring my camera, angel and i got really close up on the right balcony (all the way down by the stage, next to the one vip) on josh's side so i would have had great photos, i guess i was afraid they would take my camera, they let you bring in cameras, but some times nix ones that look "too professional" i don't know what that means- zoom lens? so anyway... so for those not in the know, the 9:30 club is fantastic and the view is great from just about anywhere, but i had a spectacular view. the opening band throw rag were insane, some how two of the five members end up in their underwear dancing about in a creepy way (i have told people that it was so weird that josh, who was on the vip balcony opposite from us got his digital camera and was snapping photos on them cracking up... how insane does something have to be for josh to think it's weird, i mean he toured with nick for how long??) so they are amusing in a weird way, plus there was a guy (one of the non-pants variety) who played a washboard with spoons, who knew that so cal punk needed that??? i sure didn't
so queens take the stage, and as they were doing set up they put these white curtains around the stage so i thought what is up with that? well it was pretty freaking dramatic when they started playing still with the curtains (Someone's in the Wolf, which after seeing the video on the dvd scars the bejeezes out of me...) and then they pulled back the curtains- it was crazy.
the show was a great mix of all four albums, plus tons of lanegan action- i really think he might be singing on nearly half the songs now. of course the stage must get super dark before the lanegan will come out.
what else, tons of great stuff regular john, um, new version of god is in the radio, go with the flow (during which josh called this guy out...), burn the witch (so great), you would know, lost art, all great stuff (set list is here)

josh was super talkative, it was great, i don't remember him being so talkative. he was talkative before someone threw something at his head, but after, even more so. it was insane to see him go so ballistic, i guess from what anyone could gather, the guy was not pleased that nick wasn't there, oh drama. i saw josh flip the guy off earlier and then it was like a full on fight was about the erupt.
brody dalle was in the house- she looked fantastic kids, really pretty and super cool red high heeled boots.
